Improve STP operations for 100% resuse and zero liquid discharge (ZLD).
We invested in treatment and have made the water potable and drink treated water directly. Reject stream from RO is used to wash cars.

Narrative

Builder had built STP and RWA was interested in improving operations to see what quality we could achieve.

The residents embarked on a project to make STP water potable and reuse it to the maximum. Initially we considered handing it over to an operator but after talking with many experts (including Rajesh Shah of PWX), we decided to do it ourselves.

We monitored output water quality and compared with all incoming sources and decided on using treated water for regular consumption (treat it as a potable source).

    Sustainability award

TZed was honored with the first sustainability award from ApartmentAdda for our pioneering efforts in water conservation.

Here are a few pictures of our very proud staff with the trophy.

In the couple of places where Sekar and I have presented our campus water system, we always get the question - "How did you convince the residents to accept this?" And when we tell them that we faced almost no opposition and that the proposal was passed unanimously it is met with utter disbelief followed by a huge applause.

A big thank you to all the residents for making this possible.

    Visit by PCB SEOs

At the invitation of Rajesh Shah, we visited STPs in Whitefield. The manager of T-Zed was very happy to share STP operations with us.

We were very impressed with T-Zed STP and their water reuse - both for drinking and RO reject for washing cars. And the whole environmental outlook of the community. We took a water sample to test at our lab.

We promised to bring our Chairman to see the STP.
