Allentown lies at a sloppy hill with rocky ground. Therefore it is not possible to dig water wells since solid rock is very near to the surface. tThe only way to get water is to climb down the hill to streams in the mangroves. The quality of the water the

Underground Rainwater Harvesting Tank equipped with an Indian Mark II hand pump and connected to the schools roof.

Done in one phase

As usual, a committee is formed to supervise the usage of the infrastructure. The committee consists of 7 members representing the Vocational Institute (Students Representative, Health Representative, Project Manager) and the Community (Chairman, Nurse)
Since this tank is located at the Vocational Institute of the Implementing Agency it will have a representing role. It will serve as example for visitors from other organisations as well as other interested persons.

This will be the pilot project for implementing RWHT of this kind by Safer Future
